What You Should Do When You Lack Courage as a Leader

Here’ s a fast tip I’ ve had to use often in life when I absence the courage I want as a leader. When it is time for you to make the hard choices – and do the things I know I needed to do, but I’ m scared to perform them I’ ve learned a way ahead.

I can never seem to manipulate courage, so –

When I lack courage as being a leader, I renew my passion for that thing which I need to do.

It might sound like a simplified approach, and maybe even a play on words. Really it’s actually taking a bigger picture approach to the challenge ahead.

Here’ s what happens – when the vision is clearly just before me I am a lot more willing to wade through the difficulties and obstructions to get there.

Dork Ramsey says, “I f you wish to get out of debt you need to get angry sufficient to do something about it.. ” (Paraphrase)

I am suggesting the same concept here.

Emotions gas courage, so when I actually lack courage as being a leader, I want to fuel better emotions.

If you grow your enthusiasm for whatever needs doing you’ll normally grow your courage.

For instance, if you need to address a difficult employee situation, yet don’ t absence the courage being a leader – fall more in love with the fitness of the organization and the efficiency in realizing the particular vision. You’ lmost all likely find courage to have the hard discussion.

If you are a pastor leading the church and the change needed seems overwhelming. If you appear to have more critics than you have partners, keep in mind why God called you to the cathedral. Reflect on the vision of the church. Concentrate on why God known as you into ministry.

You take risks to achieve those things for which you are most enthusiastic.

Have you ever witnessed the most gentle, even quite mother when she feels her child is within danger? Talk about courage! For most of us, if our own child was in risk, we would find the bravery to save him or her, whatever the risks involved.

The more in love with what we hope to achieve we are the more we will find the courage we lack as a innovator.
