Wednesday Motivation: 10 Tips to Help You Through The Midweek Hump

When Wednesday rolls around your motivation to maintain getting things carried out may have lessened substantially.

I know that is sometimes the case for me at least.

So in this week’s post I’d like to share the very best 10 tips and habits that assist to refuel our motivation to get past that midweek hump and keep working in a focused way until Friday afternoon is here and the weekend awaits.

I hope you’ll find something right here to help to make your Wednesday even better.

1 . Start little (or tiny).

In case a project, a task or the next step at work or in school today appears tough or daunting and you wind up procrastinating then break this down into small ways. Steps that get just 5-10 mins each.

Then get started on that will first step to start moving forward once again.

I find that doing this not only gets me out of handlungsaufschub but also refuels our motivation and the actual next few ways forward easier and more fun again.

If breaking what you are about to do into small steps still gets you in handlungsaufschub then break your task down into small steps. Steps that will only take 1-2 minutes to complete.

And then begin with the first tiny phase.

It is important is to just get heading and to start continuing to move forward no matter how you actually do that. So be sure to use small or small steps frequently to get started and to get to carried out.

2 . Play music that will boosts your energy / changes your mood.

Among the easiest ways to increase my motivation today as I write this is to take a 10 moment break and to play a bunch of songs that are upbeat or encourage me in some way.

Such a split often helps to modify my perspective to a more open and inspired one and it becomes easier to shift forwards after the break is over.

3. Compete in a friendly method (with others or yourself).

One way to create things more fun even if the task itself is definitely boring is to create completing it in to a friendly competition.

If you want you can include a small price for added motivation like the champion getting a free your favorite ice cream or a can associated with soda from the other person.

Or you can compete with your self. See if you can do a task faster than the last time – while still delivering a good result – to get some motivation moving.

4. Remind your self of what you work towards.

When the motivation is low in your Wednesday morning and you simply want to go back to mattress then it’s simple to lose sight of why you’re performing something in the first place.

So take a couple of minutes and take note of your top 3 reasons for why you are doing this work at college, at your job or with your business.

Put that will physical note to cannot avoid seeing it every day or even turn it into a reminder on your smartphone that will pops up once a day for easy access to that motivational boost.

5. Allow the motivation flow from all other people.

This is perhaps the easiest and simplest one to use if you think unmotivated.

Simply let the motivation, enthusiasm and energy of other people into your mind, day and life.

I often accomplish that nowadays by reading a chapter approximately in a book in the Kindle app upon my smartphone (currently I’m reading “ The Psychology associated with Money” by Morgan Housel, it’s an excellent one).

Or I watch a video by a number of my favorite motivational Youtubers like Ali Abdaal, Mike Boyd or even Will Tennyson.

6. Declutter and create a workspace that provides a bit more motivation.

When my work space is certainly messy then I discover that I have trouble focusing and so it’s easy to get stuck within procrastination in a insufficient motivation.

If that is the situation for you too after that take 5 minutes right now to declutter your work space. Throw out the things which should not be there like old notes plus coffee mugs. Put the things that are important back to their homes.

Then, when the work space is decluttered and in order again change your working environment a bit by adding a few motivation:

  • Put up an email with an inspiring estimate or a photo of the loved one on your table.
  • Give a bit of greenery like a small plant when possible (this one’s not for everyone but helps me to connect a bit with nature and to relax when I work).
  • Add a new and uplifting desktop wallpaper for the computer and one for the smartphone too.

7. Tap into gratitude for what you do possess.

When you’re exhausted and in a motivational slump then in my experience it is easy to start seeing just about everything in your life through a unfavorable lens. And so your motivation may stay stuck or even sink lower.

One of the quickest ways to get yourself out of that will headspace is to make use of gratitude.

So I ask personally this:

What are 3 stuff I sometimes ignore but can be pleased for in my living?

Our answers when I questioned myself this the final time were that I don’t have to go hungry, that I have a roof over my head which I have an emergency fund if I need it.

6. Mix things up.

A rut can get you mentally stuck in negative thoughts. So mix some misconception today.

Sit in a new spot when you do your job. Listen to other songs or podcasts compared to you usually do. And go for the lunchtime option that feels the most new or different to you.

This basic variation can in my experience help to renew that motivation.

9. Have a 2 minute meditation break.

When the mind is inundated and a bit exhausted (especially in the afternoons) then I quite often take a 2 minute meditation break to get rid of the mental clutter and inner tensions and also to find a clear focus again.

Here’s how I do it:

We sit down on the comfy sofa plus close my eyes. And then I just take slow belly breaths and focus 100% at the air going in and out for 2 a few minutes. And that’s it.

10. Just get began (and let the motivation catch up with you).

A significant reminder for me is the fact that I don’t actually have to await for motivation to get going.

I could just get to work with what I need to do anyway. And some days this is what simply works best to keep that will consistency in my work up.

But here’s the funny thing: after I been employed by for a while, after I took a few steps forward then things feel easier, lighter and more fun. And so the motivation to keep going, to get the task or project to done draws up with me.
