3 Things You Need to Stop Doing to Live a Simpler Life

“Life is really basic, but we insist upon making it complicated. ”

Confucius

This article is about a few mistakes We’ve made.

About a few harmful habits that can create life quite sloppy and unhappy.

And it’s about what you can do instead to replace those mistakes plus habits with some thing better.

This article is all about unveiling simplicity if you find yourself having overcomplicated your life.

1 . Stop overthinking things.

Few habits and mistakes are usually as common since getting stuck within overthinking.

I used to do it all the time.

Plus it led to a lot of analysis paralysis, to little action being taken on what I deep down wanted and also to so much time and energy lost.

What to do instead:

Set short deadlines.

When you have all the time on earth to consider something after that that can often end up in you spending lots of time thinking about the situation at hand from every conceivable angle.

I have found that learning how to set short deadlines is really helpful for this particular, although it take a little bit to practice.

So for small decisions like when should go and do the dishes or go and work out I usually provide myself 30 secs or less to create a decision.

For somewhat larger decisions that in the past would have taken me days or weeks to think through We set a deadline day for 30 minutes or for the end from the workday.

Say remain in a situation where you know you can’t think directly.

I know that I am more vulnerable to negative thinking and overthinking things when Now i’m hungry or whenever I’m close to my bedtime.

And so I have learned to stay away from thinking about anything at all important during that period.

And when such thoughts using a negative twist nevertheless pop up then I tell myself: No, no, we’re not going to consider this now.

Because I know which i will be back to considering clearly and optimistically again if I bad some food or even sleep.

I highly recommend selecting your own situation(s) if you are more vulnerable to overthinking or pessimism. And to catch yourself plus redirect your thoughts in such times.

2 . Stop making your daily work busier and much more complicated than it needs to be.

It’s very easy to get stuck in the same old rut at the office or in school. To invest your hours generally there like you usually perform and like most of some other people do as well.

Using a lot of time spent on busy work, handlungsaufschub and on being pressured on weekends or simply before a deadline day.

What to do instead:

Breathe and find what truly matters in the long run.

First, sit down plus take a couple of serious breaths to relax and also to focus your mind.

Then ask yourself: what is the most important point I can do nowadays?

Consider what would matter most in the long run when you ask yourself this issue. Find just that a single task.

Get started with that one task.

If you have problems taking action plus are  slipping in to procrastination then proceed smaller.

Tell yourself: I will work on this task for just 2 minutes.

Make getting started so easy on your self that there is very little or no inner resistance in your mind.

If you just get started then it’s in my experience fairly easy to keep going for a while longer and to make a real dent within the task or even completing it.

3. Cease overcomplicating your romantic relationships.

The fun, pleasure and joy inside a relationship of any sort can often be greatly reduced simply by simple and common thought mistakes.

Two such mistakes I’ve made many times in the past are to try to read minds and also to go full in with creating drama.

How to proceed instead:

Inquire.

Trying to mindread generally winds up in creating nightmare scenarios in your own mind.

Because reading minds is pretty a lot impossible and so it is extremely easy to project your own worst fears on to what this individual might be thinking.

So instead start cultivating a habit of being a little more direct. Cultivate a habit of wondering and more clearly communicating to better understand one another.

Question your own play.

There can be a sort of temporary pleasure or enjoyment in creating drama and making some thing bigger or more unfavorable than it is.

In the growing process and even more so in the long run it tends to be quite destructive though.

So start questioning your own drama.

Ask yourself:

Will this issue in 5 yrs? Or even in five weeks?

Ask it before you start creating and distributing drama to the individuals in your life.

Sure, the issue available may still have to be addressed but easily simplify it to what it truly is before you do that to avoid unnecessary conflicts, fury and hurt feelings.

And don’t forget to issue other people’s theatre too by wondering the same question.

Just because they wish to create drama doesn’t mean that you have to get drawn into it.
