5 Bible Verses of Encouragement for Church Planters

This post is titled “ five Bible Verses of Encouragement for Church Planters”. However , these verses could encourage those attempting church revitalization.

Actually those those starting the nonprofit ministry or trying to operate a small business might be encouraged by them. I don’ t want to abuse Bible verses, but there are certainly Scriptures principles which have multiple applications.

Here’ s my tale. Since surrendering to professional ministry in my late 30’ s, we started our personal nonprofit, have been involved in the beginning two churches and the revitalization of three churches. Plus, through our ministry, we now have assisted a dozen or so nonprofits get off the ground.

I have learned there are times when you simply need outside encouragement. The idea for this post came after a conversation with a very anxious and frustrated planter. (Imagine launching in the middle of a pandemic. )

At times I simply don’ t know what to state to someone. In those people moments, the best I can do is point them returning to truth. These have been motivating verses to me in my work. If you need it, I hope these reminders help.

5 Bible Verses associated with Encouragement for Church Planters

“ Do not despise these little beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin. ” Zechariah 4: 10

Every single living thing begins someplace. Jesus talked about the “ life” contained in the smallest of seeds. Sometimes small offers advantages. Don’ t compare yourselves to others. Satisfaction is being satisfied where The almighty has you today.

“ Don’t allow anyone think less of you because you are youthful. ” 1 Timothy 4: twelve

Of course , this was written to a young pastor, not to a local church. And you may not be regarded as young anymore. I love those people who are still involved in new things when they are my age. However the principle here is still encouraging. Continue reading the verse and find out how you can set yourself aside even in these early days of the work.

And I am certain that The almighty, who began the good function within you, will carry on his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians one: 6

Here is an additional verse that can quickly be studied out of context and misapplied. But I am confident of the. If God called you to it He has a plan. It might or may not look like what you imagined, but it will be great, because God is good.

“And therefore my judgment is that we ought to not make it difficult for that Gentiles who are turning to Our god. ” Acts 15: 19

Don’t over complicate things. Everything doesn’t have to be elaborate. You shouldn’ t compare yourselves to the bigger, more established churches – who also have more staff and a larger budget. Sometimes simple works.

Stick with the basics. People require the hope of the Gospel.

Nevertheless, You will find reserved seven thousand within Israel. 1 Kings 19: 18

I can’t tell you exactly how encouraging this voice continues to be over the years. Elijah felt alone but he wasn’t. Our god already had a people ready for his support.

You will find learned by experience that if God is calling me to it he is already preparing others. Sometimes it is hard to find them among a sea complainers but they are there. Part of my leadership is to find them.
